Check out The Avengers trailer. I’m not necessarily a fan of these movies, but Iron Man was pretty good and Thor actually wasn’t all that bad. Scarlett Johansson is in it. Good enough for me. Oh yea AND there is a new American Pie movie with the original cast. Here is the trailer.

It amazes me how much people get out of Minecraft. At times it’s like watching a child as he plays alone in his room creating vast worlds in his mind using only the toys at his disposal. There are limits to what you can do in a video game. Even Minecraft. Yet people entertain themselves endlessly. This guy decided to create a video series of a his travels in Minecraft with only one life to live.

Check out Revision3 for shows like The Totally Rad Show, Film Riot and Destructoid.

The Star Wars: The Old Republic release date is now Dec 20th in both the US and EU. The EU date was originally the 22nd. Check out the new Signs of War trailer.

Here’s some sweet info on Skyrim werewolves. Apparently certain races have a resistance to the lycan syndrome-disease-condition-thing. Let’s just call it lycanherpes. Works for me. According to the blog there is no cure for lycanthropy but the condition does have methods of which to be held back.

The Battlefield 3 open beta brought in 8 million players. There is also a BF3 reality show called Operation Gridiron. Here is Episode 1 and Episode 2. At least it’s not a Call of Duty reality show. I don’t think I need to tell you how pathetic that would be.

Recently in Gaming: Rage is Awesome, RIP Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Inc. passed away on October 5th. He was born on February 24 1955. The Apple website displayed this image.

When Netflix announced it’s Qwikster DVD service (splitting DVD services off from Netflix) I said this would be an extremely bad move. Apparently so many people agreed that Netflix changed it’s mind.

If you’re playing RAGE and noticing some weird graphical glitches then you will want to update the game and your video card drivers. RAGE shipped with some odd bugs. A recent patch also adds new graphics settings. Speaking of RAGE. It’s awesome. No really. I expect the wingstick to go down in gaming history.

Stalker 2 will require a “permanent Internet connection”.

Mass Effect 3 multiplayer is confirmed. Read this article for more information.

Mafia Wars 2 is live on Facebook. It kind of sucks.

The Diablo 3 closed beta has started. If you want to opt-in then head over to your Battle.net account, check your beta settings and upload your PC specs.

You will be able to download Battlefield 3 and participate in the open beta starting on the 29th and ending on October 10th. Get it here when the beta starts. The system requirements have been released. The recommended specs include a DirectX11 compatible card with 1GB of RAM and I expect that you will want the recommended specs. Especially if you intend on playing at 1920×1080.

Borderlands 2 will have a new UI and split screen action. It will also feature revamped weapons and AI.

Apparently Minecraft’s Enderman liked to walk off with player-made structures. Now they are getting nerfed. Take that Enderman-person-thing.

EA says traditional retail outlets are here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Recently in Gaming: Deus Ex Release, PAX Prime

Deus Ex: Human Revolution released on August 23 in NA! Updates have already been released increasing load times by up to 50%, correcting crashes on some machines and fixing other issues. I’ve been playing it myself and it’s a great game. The cover system is a bit hard to get in and out of in a bind, but that’s the largest negative that I can come up with. I will likely be reviewing the game in the near future when I’ve completed it. If you’re looking for a Let’s Play video, check out J2JonJeremy.

PAX Prime is on-going. If you’re looking for Star Wars: The Old Republic coverage check in with DarthHater, Corellian Run Radio and TORWars.

Steam is offering refunds for From Dust. Customers were led to believe that there would be a one-time online activation for the game. Now that the game has been released, players have found out that it requires an active Internet connection.

These Ace Combat: Assault Horizon screenshots look bad ass.

Scrolls vs Elder Scrolls

What do you do when in a legal battle with Bethesda over your in-development project titled Scrolls (Bethesda owns the Elder Scrolls series)? Challenge them to a Quake match. Then you realize how ridiculous that was and change your mind. At least if you’re Minecraft’s Markus “Notch” Persson.

Battlefield 3

Battlefield 3 does not have an in-game browser, but the console version does. I don’t know if it’s EA or Dice making these decisions, but I’m willing to bet it’s all EA. EA is a corporate prick at best. I really have to wonder if EA purposefully tries to piss off it’s “fans”.

It looks like spotting in Battlefield 3 has been improved over it’s predecessors.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

EA will limit distribution of Star Wars: The Old Republic on launch day. If you intend on playing on launch day you might want to pre-order as soon as possible. I don’t agree that this is the right decision. It will only serve to anger more players. You don’t prevent launch day server congestion by limiting sales. You prepare. You ready adequate servers.

Today in Gaming: The Old Republic, Other GC2011 Info

According to Joystiq and James Ohlen there will be no cross-faction communication in Star Wars: The Old Republic. To clear this up a bit here is a quote from developer Georg Zoeller on the official forums.

If you haven’t seen these two The Old Republic videos yet, check out the GC2011 producer presentation and a sith warrior playthrough with Stephen Reid.

New gameplay mode unveiled in Star Wars: The Old Republic called “Hutt Ball”.

George Zoeller Quote

BF3 is extremely popular at Gamescom. Check out these booth images. A co-op mode was unveiled recently and we’ve learned that the co-op mode is only 30% shorter than the single player game.
